Hi All

Had a complete nightmare this month trying to file one P11D for a client when all other P11Ds have worked.

Problem was that the activation codes to activate the client as a PAYE client and the clients own activate PAYE codes have both not come through from HMRC, not sure why.

As "online services" as either agent or when logged in as client was not working and coming up with all sorts of error messages found this link to file the P11D for the client via a PDF submission instead:

However the submit button did nothing. (was in Internet Explorer v 11. So tried it is Chrome and Firefox but the online PDF page would not even open in those browsers.

Then got directed to HMRC's new Beta online "chat" service.

An agent "Nikki" at HMRC was very helpful. Took a while but she got me to check the "trust" settings in the browser by providing this link.

After the trust settings were changed it still would not submit the P11D etc.

However I opened a fresh IE browser window and then competed the P11D from scratch (after checking first the trust settings were all still ticked which they were).

The submission then went through to HMRC with a submission confirmation number etc.

Only remaining problem was that I cold not then click on the view form so fingers crossed HMRC got the completed for OK. At least I have the submission reference and confirmation printed PLUS a printed copy of the detailed "chat" with Nikki at HMRC if there is a problem with HMRC re this P11D.

Hope that helps anyone else is having any P11D submission nightmares. Never had a problem like that one with P11DS before. Took hours to solve!!!!

p.s HMRC Beta "online Chat" services is open:-

Service hours are
Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm
Saturday 8am to 4pm

If you are trying within the service hours and still getting this message, please try again after some time.

So I just got it sorted before 4pm ! today phew...
