This is an interersting one I was asked the other day and thought other tax professionals might find it useful.

Finding indicators of 31 March 1982 property values for CGT purposes.

Well one good place to start is the Valuation Office Agency websites which HMRC refer to as one source.

There are pages for various types of assets but there is a regional one for house prices at at 31 March 1982.

Not necessarily conclusive on its own but a handy online resource.

There are also links to other 1982 valuation indicators such as land and warehouse values as at March 1982.
